The big check with his name on it translated into more than just a cool €166,600 in his bank account (after taxes and his agent’s cut, of course) for David Horsey on Sunday in Moscow.
It also meant a move into the current group of players eligible for the Race to Dubai year end tournament.
His winnings at the Russian Open propelled Horsey from 82nd to 50th in the standings. He’s now won €376,278 in 16 tournaments. That hardly secures his spot, considering the current No. 60 -the last one eligible for the year-end tournament – has earned €312,554, and there are four other players with €100,000 of Horsey’s current position.
Still, far better to be on the inside looking out than the other way around.
