The Quicken Loans National will never be confused for a Major, but it’s the major news event of June considering Tiger Woods is returning to action.
Played at the picturesque Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, the tournament is a perfect setting for Woods’ return from three months’ inactivity due to surgery to repair a damaged nerve. Woods’ foundation is the secondary sponsor of the event.
The par-71 course stretches 7,569 yards and Bill Haas is on hand to try and defend his 2013 title.
The tournament’s premiere trio gets underway at 8:12 a.m. Thursday when Woods, 20-year-old Jordan Spieth and Jason Day take to the course.
Another impressive trio gets underway at 1:12 p.m. when Keegan Bradley is joined by 2013 Masters winner Justin Rose and Ernie Els, who is forgoing defending his title at the BMW International Open to play the Quicken Loans National this week.
