GOLF CLUB GETS WORLD CUP FEVER

England are going home, we’re going home – but it hasn’t stopped world cup fever gripping Hoebridge Golf Centre.

The Woking golf course has embraced the carnival atmosphere and introduced themed targets on its extensive practice facilities.

Life-size cardboard cut-outs of the game’s top names, including Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard (er, you said top names – ed) and a full size football goal can be found on the public pay-and-play centre’s 36-bay covered and floodlit driving range.

Mike O’Connell, Senior General Manager at Hoebridge Golf Centre – part of BGL Golf, the UK’s leading golf course owner and operator – said: “Everyone is welcome to our football-themed driving range throughout the World Cup. It would be great to see our golfers try and knock one past Rooney.

“The football theme continues throughout the centre as we will be showing all the key games on a large flat screen TV in our Café, Bar & Grill where customers can relax and enjoy a variety of special food and drink offers.”
