Bad enough that Rory McIlroy couldn’t catch Martin Kaymer to win the US Open last weekend in Pinehurst, North Carolina; United Airlines then lost his luggage on the way home.
McIlroy took a flight from Newark, New Jersey, to Dublin, Ireland on Monday, but his clubs didn’t arrive with him, a problem given the fact that McIlroy is the feature piece of this week’s Irish Open.
By taking to Twitter and referencing “@united”, McIlroy got a first-class case of customer service for his request, and the airline, after garnering his bag reference ID number, responded within 100 minutes that the clubs had been found and would be delivered to his hand at the tournament.
