Rumors say Tiger Woods will make an appearance at the US Open sometime this weekend. What’s amazing is that in terms of North Carolina royalty, he won’t even be the biggest celebrity there.
That’s because Woods is alleged to be attending the event in the company of fellow Nike walking advertisement Michael Jordan, who grew up about two hours away from Pinehurst.
It might be an extended trip for Woods, whose niece Cheyenne is playing in the women’s US Open next week.
Jordan, who hosts his own celebrity golf tournament, has always been an avid competitor in the sport, and as of 2012 had a handicap of 4.
