After a 43 year wait, Justin Rose became the first Englishman to win the US Open last year, battling through a stellar field on a thrilling final day at Merion in 2013.
The defending champion begins his round at 07:51 local time, and will be looking to build on strong recent results, including top ten finishes at the Zurich Classic, Wells Fargo Championship and the PLAYERS Championship.
