Shropshire Golf Centre welcomed visitors from across the region – including the Mayor of Telford & Wrekin Council, Cllr Leon Murray – for the opening of its revamped Short Course.
After four months of renovation work, which included the creation of five new holes and the extension of the remaining 13, The Shropshire Golf Centre – part of BGL Golf, the UK’s leading golf course owner and operator – revealed its new layout to members and guests.
With no handicap or experience needed to enjoy the Short Course at the public pay-and-play centre, and with holes ranging from 60 to 125 yards long, it can be played in under 90 minutes by all of the family.
Stuart Perry, The Shropshire Golf Centre General Manager, said: “We have received extremely positive feedback from members and visitors alike, who have played the new layout. It’s great for beginners who are more than welcome to use the Short Course to have a go at golf, with members and experienced golfers using it to practice their short game. It’s fantastic we have developed this facility and is currently the only one of its kind in Shropshire”
“I would like to extend my thanks to all members and visitors, including the Mayor of Telford & Wrekin Council, Cllr Leon Murray and his wife Barbara, for helping to reopen our renovated Short Course, in style.”
Short Course green fees are £4 for juniors and £5 for adult visitors, family-passes for just £12 and annual membership options from £49. Golf equipment is available to hire free of charge from The Shropshire golf shop.
