France’s Victor Dubuisson, Spain’s Alvaro Quiros and England’s Eddie Pepperell forged a three-way tie atop the leaderboard at the Nordea Masters at the PGA Sweden National on Friday, all three men tied at 6-under.
Quiros had the best round of the three men, firing a 5-under 67. He started the round with an eagle and added another on No. 11, moving up 49 spots after his Day 1 score of 71.
Dubuisson, ranked 25th in the world, logged his second straight 69, while Pepperell shot an even par 72 after starting the day in a tie for first with Jens Dantrop at 6-under.
Six players are tied for fourth, a single stroke back, including local icon and world No. 2 Henrik Stenson, who shot a 70 after his opening round 69. Stenson was in contention for the lead until the final few holes, where he bogeyed No. 16 for the second straight day, then hit a double bogey on the par-3 No. 17. He rallied with a birdie on 18, his second straight day closing the round with a birdie.
Also in the mix at 5-under are Scotland’s Chris Doak and Stephen Gallacher, the aforementioned Dantorp, Wales’ Bradley Dredge and Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee.
