After nearly losing the lead on Friday at the BMW Championship, Denmark’s Thomas Bjorn reasserted his spot on Saturday, shooting a 5-under 67 to open up a five-stroke lead heading into Sunday.

Bjorn hit six straight birdies on the back nine, and seven in eight holes to open up a five-stroke lead over England’s Luke Donald, who shot a 68 after a 67 on Friday to climb into contention.

Day Two co-leader Shane Lowry of Ireland struggled to a 1-over 73 to drop back to third place at 9-under.

Former No. 1 Rory McIlroy continued an impressive tournament in the wake of the breaking of his engagement to tennis player Caroline Wozniacki earlier this week, shooting a 69 to sit tie for fourth at 8-under.
