Defending champion Boo Weekley will try to get his first title of 2014 as he leads a field at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial starting Thursday in Fort Worth, Texas.

Weekley fired a 14-under 266 to win the title last year.  The tournament’s origins date all the way back to 1946, when Ben Hogan won it for the first of four times.

The tournament kicks off Thursday morning at 7 a.m. with trios on both the front and back nine. With the prestigious BMW Championship taking place simultaneously in Surrey this week, the international field is a bit diminished.

Regardless, the meatier threesomes begin seeing action at 7:33 a.m. when Matt Kuchar, Rickie Fowler and Jim Furyk tee off on the back nine. Eleven minutes later, two-time Colonial winner Zach Johnson will hit the back nine along with current FedExCup leader Jimmy Walker and 2013 Masters winner Adam Scott.

The first big trio of the afternoon session starts at 12:33 p.m. on the front nine with PGA Championship winner Jason Dufner paired with Hunter Mahan and 2013 Rookie of the Year Jordan Spieth.
