BIRDIE-EAGLE FINISH GIVES FELIPE THE SPOILS

Titleist Pro V1x player Felipe Aguilar produced a phenomenal 2-2 finish to fire a closing back nine 28 to capture his second European Tour title at The Championship.

Aguilar birdied the 17th and then holed his approach for eagle at the 18th to complete a 10-under par final round of 62 en route to a 266 victory total in Singapore. Aguilar was joined in the winners’ circle this weekend by three further Titleist golf ball players, who claimed victories on the LPGA Tour, Champions Tour and Web.com Tour respectively.

The Chilean’s stunning finish at Laguna National gave him a one-stroke victory over fellow Pro V1x loyalist Anders Hansen who finished tied with one other player for second place. The win marks Aguilar’s first European Tour title since winning in Indonesia six years ago. As well as being the choice of the champion in Singapore, Titleist golf balls were also the overwhelming choice of the field with 97 of the 156-player field choosing to put their trust in the feel and consistency of a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball.

Elsewhere, Pro V1x golf ball loyalist Stacy Lewis claimed her ninth career LPGA Tour title by firing a final round 64 en route to a six-stroke victory at the North Texas LPGA Shootout. Lewis finished on a 16-under par, 268 victory total to mark the largest margin of victory on the LPGA Tour since the 2012 Women’s British Open. This was her first victory since the 2013 Women’s British Open and moves her from third to second in the world rankings. Titleist golf balls were also the choice of the majority of players in Texas, with 99 of the 144-player field choosing a Pro V1 or Pro V1x, compared to 12 for the nearest competitor.

On the Champions Tour, Titleist Pro V1 loyalist Bernard Langer captured the Insperity Invitational for the third time by closing with a final round of 71 en route to an 11-under par, 205 winning total and a one-stroke victory. This was Langer’s second title of the season after claiming the first tournament of the 2014 season, and sees him become the 10th player to win twenty events on the Champions Tour.

An emphatic multi-win weekend for Titleist golf ball loyalists was completed on the Web.com Tour, where Titleist Brand Ambassador Blayne Barber (Pro V1x) fired a final round 67 en route to a 15-under par, 273 victory total to claim his maiden Tour title at the South Georgia Classic.

Barber trusted Titleist equipment from tee-to-green to finish two strokes clear of fellow Pro V1x loyalist Alex Prugh and three clear of Carlos Ortiz (Pro V1x). Counts this weekend bolster the number of times Titleist players have chosen to tee up a Pro V1 or Pro V1x in 2014, rising to 7,293 players across worldwide professional tours, compared to 1,143 for the nearest competitor. The weekend’s wins also take Titleist’s 2014 worldwide golf ball win count to 51 across professional tours, compared to 9 for the nearest competitor.
