GOLF COMPANY DEAL HAS YORKSHIRE CRICKET IN A SPIN

Yorkshire County Cricket Club has teed up the perfect start to the new season by agreeing a sponsorship deal with Yorkshire-based golf retailer Direct Golf.

Always proud of its white-rose county roots, Direct Golf has consistently supported the club’s golf day with prizes and sponsorship. This year, the Huddersfield-based company has taken its sponsorship a stage further and will be offering Yorkshire CCC members and supporters exclusive deals on the popular, ground-breaking Progen range of golf equipment, and increasing its branding presence in and around Headingley, the cricket club’s home for almost 125 years.

In turn, Direct Golf customers will benefit from special, exclusive discounts on match tickets and Yorkshire CCC merchandise.

It was a partnership made in heaven, well Yorkshire, anyway, as Direct Golf’s group marketing manager, Simon Corp – himself a proud Yorkshireman – explained.

“There is, and always has been, a big element of support for Yorkshire CCC within the staff and directors at Direct Golf, from company founder John Andrew – who was born in Howden – to the guys and girls on the shop floor,” he said.

“We’ve always been proud to support the county’s annual golf day but the relationship has developed to the point where we wanted Direct Golf to be a major sponsor and help push the club to further success.

“We attended the recent media day at the club and were able to get to know the players and club officials better. And they were all happy to be photographed to help announce our new relationship.
