Adrian Otaegui, Peter Uihlein Leads Open de France

A two-hour rain delay could not dampen the efforts of Peter Uihlein and Adrian Otaegui, who took the lead at the HNA Open de France through 36 holes on Friday.

Otaegui fired a 66 early in the day to set the pace; Uihlein’s 66 got him to 8-under and tied for the lead, a stroke ahead of Tommy Fleetwood and Alexander Bjork.

Otaegui has to be breathing a sigh of relief after missing six straight cuts.

Fleetwood, who performed strongly during both the US Open and the Travelers Championship of late, said the rain delay made things tough to get going.

“It’s always quite tricky when you have to go back out,” said the 26-year-old, who finished fourth at the US Open. “It was a shame because I felt like I had a lovely rhythm again.”
