Expert Picks: Travelers Championship

The PGA TOUR heads to the Connecticut this week for the Travelers Championship at the TPC River Highlands course. The Pete Dye designed course measures 6,841 yards, par 70. Kevin Streelman put his name in the record books last year, with a 7 birdie run to storm past Sergio Garcia and K.J. Choi for victory.

Of the 156 players total, 73 have won a PGA TOUR event, 13 have won a Major, and combined they have 277 Tour wins.

Brant Snedeker sits 8th in the FedEx Cup on the back of 7 top-10’s in 18 starts, including a victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Championship. In his last 3 starts, Snedeker has been in the top 10 in each of those events, inclusive of an 8th place finish at the US Open. Snedeker currently sits 6th on tour for strokes gained putting. Currently ranked No.25 in the world, Snedeker is decent value at 14/1 to capture his second PGA TOUR title of the year.

Louis Oosthuizen is fresh off a T-2 finish at the US Open last week, following rounds of 66 and 67 over the weekend. In 2015 the South African has 5 top-10 finishes in just 12 starts on the PGA TOUR. The world No.16 has also played several ties on the European tour, and has amassed over 1.7million Euros this year. Oosthuizen enters this week paying good value a 22/1.

Paul Casey has had a great season thus far, and has done everything but win yet. Casey has had 5 top-10’s including a playoff loss at the Northern Trust open to James Hahn. Casey ranks 8th on the tour for green in regulation %. At last week US Open, Casey finished T-39 despite an opening round 69. Currently ranked No.35 in the world, Casey is great value at 40/1.

Marc Leishman is a former champion of the Travelers Championship, having taken the title back in 2012. This season Leishman had amassed 3 top-10’sin 16 starts including a T-5th finish at the Memorial 2 weeks ago, but did miss the cut at last week’s US Open. In last year’s edition of the Travelers Championship, Leishman finished T-11th. The world no.57 is currently paying 40/1 for victory this week.
