Cabrera-Bello Chasing Bourdy at Lyoness
Former champion Rafa Cabrera-Bello cut Gregory Bourdy’s lead in half to two strokes at the conclusion of 54 holes at the Lyoness Open in Austria on Saturday.
Cabrera-Bello won here in 2009, and recorded a 6-under 66 to drop to 13-under on Saturday. He was magnificent on the front nine, with three birdies and an eagle, and has shot 9-under on the front nine for all three rounds combined.
Bourdy, who has had at least a share of the lead for all three rounds, shot a 3-under 69 to stand at 15-under.
The only other player within five strokes of the lead is the UK’s Chris Wood, who had his worst round of the tournament, a 2-under 70, to sit at 10-under.
The best round of the day belonged to Scotland’s Scott Jamieson, who notched a 7-under 65 to climb into a tie for fourth at 9-under.
Jamieson bogeyed No. 1, then rattled off five birdies between 3 and 8, with another three on the back nine.
