Bowditch’s 65 Equals 2-Stroke Lead
Australia’s Steven Bowditch fired a 4-under 65 to open up a two-stroke lead at the AT&T Byron Nelson in Irving, Texas on Saturday.
Bowditch is 13-under for the tournament, and is looking for his second-ever PGA title. His first, ironically, also came in Texas, at the Texas Open in San Antonio in 2014. Bowditch has lived in the Dallas area for the past 10 years.
Several players are tied for second, including Dustin Johnson, who fired a 62 on the day, the low round this week.
Jordan Spieth shot a 68 and is tied for 18th, six strokes off the lead. Barring a dramatic final day, the Masters champion will likely miss out on a title in Texas, although he has had several near misses over the past two years.
