Miguel Angel Jimenez is already the oldest winner in the history of the European Tour. He’ll try to extend that record for a third straight year as he begins his title defense of the Open de Espana on Thursday in Barcelona.

Jimenez is celebrating his one-year wedding anniversary this week and marking his 31st time playing in the Open.

“It’s nice to come here and defend the Spanish Open, it’s great and I will try to do my best and put my tooth and nails into it,” Jimenez said.

Jimenez will tee off on the back nine alongside France’s Victor Dubuisson and England’s Tommy Fleetwood at 8:20 a.m. local time on Thursday.
Jimenez has tallied 21 career wins on the European Tour, tied for 10th all-time with Sam Torrance. He is two wins behind Jose Maria Olazabal and Lee Westwood for eighth.
