The PGA TOUR heads to Texas for a two-week run, starting with the Valero Texas Open at TPC San Antonio. With only 2 tournaments left before the season’s first major, some players will be looking to get the all-important world ranking points to get the invitation to Augusta National. This week’s field will be headlined by Texan natives Jimmy Walker and Jordan Speith, who both already have wins under their belts this season

Of the 144 players total, 73 have won a PGA TOUR event, 13 have won a Major, and combined they have 282 Tour wins.

World No.6 Jordan Spieth enters the week a fan and odds on favourite to win his home state tournament. Fresh off his last start win at the Valspar, Spieth will look to go back-to-back this week. In 2015, Spieth has 4 top-10 in 7 starts and currently leads the tour in putting average. Spieth enters the week a firm 8/1 favourite.

Zach Johnson is one of 7 past champions in the field this week, having won it back in 2008 and 2009. Johnson is having a decent start to 2015 having recorded 3 top-10 in 8 starts, including a T9th at last week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational. At last year’s event, Johnson finished a very respectable T-6th. Currently ranked No.24 in the world, Johnson is decent value at 25/1.

Jim Furyk is playing in only his 5th start of the PGA TOUR season, and thus far has had a solid start to his season. Furyk has recorded 3 top-10 finishes, including a T-7th at the AT&T in his first start of the year. Like Johnson, Furyk finished T-6th at last year’s Valero Open. The world number 7 is currently paying 20/1, which is great value for one of the highest ranked players in the field.

Matt Kuchar is having another solid start to this seasons PGA TOUR. Kuchar has made the cut in all of his 8 starts, and has recorded 6 top-10 finishes, including T-2nd at the Humana. At last year’s Valero Open, Kuchar finished T-4th behind winner Steven Bowditch. Kuchar is currently paying 22/1 to be champion this Sunday.
