Brandon DeJonge Takes Lead at Valspar

Brandon DeJonge is the new leader in a crowded field as Valspar, thanks to two long birdie putts that earned him a 69 on Friday.

At 6-under, DeJonge, one of just a few African players not at home for the Tshwane Open this week, has a 1-stroke lead over four players, including two who he must consider lethal – world No. 3 Henrik Stenson and Jordan Spieth.

Spieth’s 67 was the best round of the day in the ridiculously close-knit field as 50 players finished the second round at least one shot under par for the tournament, meaning it’s truly anyone’s tournament heading into the weekend action.
