Fisher Runs Away with Africa Open Crown
Trevor Fisher JNR took the bull by the horns Friday in Africa, following up his Saturday 63 with a 64 to take the Africa Open title by five strokes.
Fisher’s lone mistake was a bogey on No. 5. Otherwise he racked up nine birdies to finish 8-under. Over the final 53 holes of the tournament, FIsher was 22-under with 19 birdies and two eagles.
He won by five strokes over England’s Matt Ford, who was below 70 all four days, but simply couldn’t keep up, finishing with a 67-66-69-67 – 269.
No other player finished within seven strokes of Fisher, who netted €166,059 for the victory, his first.
