Chawrasia Still Leads Indian Open
SSP Chawrasia proved mortal with his first bogey of the weekend, but still holds command of the Hero Indian Open through 54 holes thanks to his 2-under 69 on Saturday.
He’s needed to be just about perfect, as defending champion Siddikur Rahman remains just two strokes back behind at 11-under.
Chawrasia is in pursuit of his third European Tour title, with the other two having come in India. He continues to get off to hot starts, birdying the first hole for the third straight day.
Australia’s Marcus Fraser did work to try and make it a three-man race by firing a 67 to drop to 7-under, five strokes off the lead. For a third straight day, Fraser nailed a birdie on No. 18 to close in style.
The only man to do a better job than Fraser was Sweden’s Daniel Chopra, who fired a 65, highlighted by an eagle 3 on the par-5, 545-yard No. 18.
