Tiger to Win: 50 to 1?
Throughout his heralded career, Tiger Woods has been the guy who could win any given tournament on any given day.
At least by Las Vegas oddsmakers’ standards, that is no longer the case.
Woods was installed as a 50:1 longshot to win the Farmers Insurance Open this week, the lowest odds of his career in memory according to Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook assistant manager Jeff Sherman.
“Tiger always commanded money, so the idea was that even though at times it might be a true 80-1 for him to win, he’d still be at 20-1 because people would still bet on him at that,” Sherman said.
Woods struggled to a second-round 82 at the Waste Management Phoenix Open last Friday and missed the cut. After the 82, Tiger’s odds to win the Masters also dropped, from 12 to 1 to 20 to 1.
