Brit Lady Golfers Sign To Chervo
Italian golf clothing brand Chervò has announced that three of British women’s golf’s brightest young talents are now official Chervò ambassadors.
Alexandra Peters, Lauren Blease and Charlotte Ellis – a trio of British golfers tipped for the top of the women’s game in the coming years – will all wear Chervo clothing as they compete across Europe this season.
An England international since the age of 14, Peters, now 20, won the prestigious English Women’s Open Amateur Strokeplay Championship in 2012, and followed that success by being crowned the number one female amateur golfer in England last year.
Peters, whose golfing idol is Luke Donald, began playing golf aged just seven, at Notts Golf Club (Hollinwell), Notts.
Still an amateur – but with her sights set firmly on the pro game soon – her ambition for the next 12 months is to secure her card for the Ladies European Tour (LET), and beyond that, she is targeting the Top 10 of the World Rankings – and a major championship, too.
Peters said: “Chervò’s clothing is so beautifully-made and such incredible quality – it makes you feel good on the course. I’m very excited to wear it.”
The second rising star to become a part of the Chervò team is 24-year-old Lauren Blease.
Competing this year in the LET Access Series, Blease has made a solid start to the season as she targets her card for the full European Tour in 2015.
Blease, whose golfing hero is Suzann Pettersen, has been playing golf for just seven years, after taking up the game aged 17 while too injured to play tennis, the sport she initially excelled at as a junior.
She said: “I’m thrilled to become an official Chervò ambassador. To me, Chervò is a cutting-edge company that produces great clothes – but clothes which are also very practical for playing.”
The third golfer to become a part of the Chervò family is 28-year-old Charlotte Ellis.
During a highly successful amateur career, Ellis won the 2006 English mid-amateur and the 2011 Scottish Strokeplay, and finished as runner-up at the English Open Strokeplay in 2009 and 2010.
She, like compatriot Lauren Blease, is currently playing on the LET Access Series in 2014.
Speaking about her new association with the brand, Ellis – whose goal for the next twelve months is to get her maiden professional victory under her belt – said: “Chervò isn’t your ‘run of the mill’ clothing brand.
“It’s the absolute pinnacle of golf fashion and it makes me feel very elegant and special whenever I wear it. The tailoring of Chervo and the fabrics used are such that they fit beautifully and move with you.
“It’s fun to know that you are the envy of most players on Tour, because your apparel is that good. I’m really looking forward to representing Chervo. It’s a real honour.”
Chervò is a pioneer in introducing new technologies and functions into golf apparel. The company’s vision is the fusion of chic and technical elements, making every Chervò product exclusive in form and content.
The result is a collection that guarantees superior technical performance and an unmistakably Italian elegance in all weather conditions – on the course, in the clubhouse and beyond.
Manfred Erlacher, Chervò CEO, said: “We are delighted to have three of the brightest up-and-coming female golfers in the UK on board. We’re proud that such talented golfers will be wearing our clothing across Europe this year.
“They are all ambitious to achieve great things in the game – and with the support of Chervò, we hope to see them all achieving their goals in the near future.”
