Rory McIlroy, Bubba Watson Can’t Name The Beatles
If Rory McIlroy is to be believed, the Beatles began playing their music a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.
In a new ESPN video to promote the Open Championship, golfers from across the globe were asked to name the four members of the legendary British rock band.
Not surprisingly, many tripped up on the fourth member – George Harrison – the least famous post-Fab Four.
McIlroy went with “George Lucas” – then asked someone off-camera who George Lucas was.
Watson crashed and burned in spectacular fashion, labeling them “the lead singer, the drummer, the guitarist and the guy who packed all their stuff up.”
Hoylake, site of the Open Championship, is about 20 minutes away from The Beatles’ birthplace of Liverpool.
