Rose Misplaces Driver at The Open

Justin Rose started his opening round at The Open with just thirteen clubs in the bag, after his driver was misplaced in Bedford, England

Rose arrived at the course only to discover the TaylorMade SLDR 430 Driver in his bag wasn’t his. “I picked it up, and that’s not my shaft, Rose said after shooting a level par round “That club should have been given to someone else. And mine was actually given to that person and driven down to Bedford”

Its report that Rose caddie, Mark Fulcher, had two Taylor Made Drivers made up for friends and left them in Justin’s staff bag. When he gave them away Wednesday evening, he gave the wrong one away. Once the mistake was noticed, the club was driven back to Royal Liverpool, and Justin had it back in his bag by the third hole.

Luckily for Rose, Rule 4.4-Selection and Addition of Clubs states:

“The player must not start a stipulated round with more than fourteen clubs. He is limited to the clubs thus selected for that round, except that if he started with fewer than fourteen clubs, he may add any number, provided his total number does not exceed fourteen. “
