Tiger Woods Fires 4-under 68 at Hero World Challenge
Tiger Woods rode a strong front 9 to a 4-under 68 on Friday, putting him tied for fifth at 7-under at the Hero World Challenge in The Bahamas.
Woods is tied for fifth place at 7-under. Charley Hoffman is the leader after firing a 9-under 63. Hoffman is at 12-under, followed by Jordan Spieth and Tommy Fleetwood at 9-under.
Woods looked razor sharp to start the round, birdying 3 of the first 4 holes and adding an eagle 3 on No. 9. He was 6-under through 11 before bogeying 12 and 18.
“I think I’m still in it,” said Woods, who is 7-under, in a share of fifth place and 5 strokes behind leader Charley Hoffman. “We’ve got two more days, and I think it’s supposed to blow a little harder tomorrow. If that’s the case, I think a good, solid round should get me up there.”
Hoffman was a birdie machine on Friday, recording 12 on the day along with three bogeys, He hit five straight birdies to end the round. Spieth was up and down with three birdies and two bogeys through the first six holes. He then shot the final 12 holes in 4-under.
