The British Are Coming! Trio Leads DP Championship
Matthew Fitzpatrick, Tyrrell Hatton and Justin Rose own the top three spots after 36 holes at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.
Fitzpatrick shot his second straight 67 on Friday to take the lead at 10-under. Hatton shot a brilliant 63 to jump up to second at 9-under while Rose is tied for third at 8-under with Julian Suri and Kiradech Aphibarnrat.
Fitzpatrick, 12th in the Race to Dubai standings, was at even par after 13 holes before eagling No. 14 and birdying 15 and 18.
Hatton, who is fifth in the Dubai standings, nearly had a tie for the lead before bogeying No. 18. That broke up a round where he otherwise recorded eight birdies and an eagle.
Rose, who is second in the Dubai standings and No. 6 in the world, fired a 2-uner 70, also bogeying No. 18.
Day 1 leader Patrick Reed slid back to a tie for sixth at 7-under after shooting an even-par 72. Reed was 2-under through 12 holes but had three bogeys between No. 13 and No. 18 to fall back.
Overall leader Tommy Fleetwood edged up to a tie for 11th at 6-under by firing a 65, a much-improved round from his Thursday 73. He had just one flub on the day , a bogey on No. 7, the same hole he eagled on Thursday. He had four birdies in the first six holes and four more between No. 18 and No. 18.
