Jon Rahm Rises to No. 8 in the World

Jon Rahm reached a career-high of No. 8 in the world on Monday following his victory on the European Tour by taking the Irish Open with a tournament-record 24 under. 2017 has been an amazing ride for Rahm, who started the year ranked 137th in the world.

Justin Rose who finished fourth at the Irish Open, move up three spots to 12th. Tommy Fleetwood, who took ninth, has risen almost as quickly as Rahm, jumping from 99th to 14th in a year.

Xander Schauffele, who won the Greenbrier Classic, rose from 159th to 82nd. He was 299th to start the year.

FedEx Cup Standings

Schauffele jumped from 94th to 27th in the FedEx Cup standings thanks to his win at the Greenbrier.

Race to Dubai

Fleetwood tightened his grip on the lead in the Race to Dubai standings while Rahm moved within striking distance of second place.

Fleetwood now has 3.634 million points. Sergio Garcia is second at 2.701 million with Rahm hot on his heels at 2.654 million.
