Yep, Rory McIlroy, the outstanding golfer who infamously backed out of his wedding with tennis star Caroline Wozniacki just days after the pair had sent out the invitations in May of 2014, tied the knot on April 23, 2017, marrying PGA employee Erica Stoll.
In 2014, McIlroy dumped former No. 1 tennis player Wozniacki with a 10-minute phone call and they have never seen each other in person again. A couple of months ago, Wozniacki decided to try another professional athlete, revealing she is dating NBA player David Lee.
Stoll and McIlroy tied the knot at Ashford Castle in Ireland, a 350-acre estate. Irish media hailed it the “wedding of the decade,” which sort of hurts my feelings since I got married in 2009.
Fellow players Sergio Garcia, Shane Lowry, and Paul McGinley attended, as did former One Direction pretty boy Niall Horan, 50 Shades of Grey weirdo James Dornan.
Rumors say that Stevie Wonder and a full orchestra provided the entertainment, with Ed Sheerhan sending the couple off on their honeymoon to Barbados.
