The big push towards the US Open begins Thursday with the Wells Fargo Championship, held this year in Wilmington, North Carolina. James Hahn will attempt to defend the title he won last year in a playoff victory over Roberto Castro while No. 1 Dustin Johnson takes to the links for the first time since suffering the back injury that deprived him of a place in The Masters.

Rory McIlroy, the only two-time winner of the event, tries to make it three as he returns to American soil. He set the tournament record of 21-under in 2015.

The big boys start teeing off around 7:45 a.m. when the trio of Patrick Reed, Adam Scott, and Jim Furyk hit the back nine.  Once a perennial Top 10 competitor, not to mention the guy who hit a 58 last year, the 46-year-old Furyk is struggling with just one Top 10 finish this year, and he’s dropped to No. 67 in the world.

No. 1 Johnson tees off at 7:56 a.m. on the back nine with Davis Love III and Bill Haas. If you want a look at the other hottest player int eh world, that comes at 12:55 p.m. when Spain’s Jon Rahm tees off on No. 1 accompanied by Wesley Bryan and Paul Casey.

Hahn, the defending champion, takes to the tee box at 1:06 p.m. along with former champions J.B. Holmes (2014) and Phil Mickelson.
