Sergio Garcia Rises to No. 7 Post-Masters
Masters winner Sergio Garcia jumped four spots from 11th to 7th after winning the Masters on Sunday, with runner-up Justin Rose right behind him at No. 8.
In taking his first Major win ever, Garcia has risen six spots since the end of 2016. Rose climbed from 14th to eighth as Adam Scott and Alex Noren were booted from the Top 10.
Jordan Spieth retook No. 5 from Henrik Stenson, while Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas each dropped a spot to make room for Garcia and Rose.
Although he missed the Masters, Dustin Johnson is still No. 1 by a wide margin over Rory McIlroy.
South Africa’s Charl Schwartzel took an 11-spot jump into the top 20 after finishing third at Augusta, rising from 29th to 18th. His ascension pushed Phil Mickelson to No. 20 and knocked Bubba Watson out of the top 20 altogether.
Thomas Pieters turned his top five finish into a nine-spot surge to 26th.
