Sergio Garcia Vaults Back into World Top 10

Sergio Garcia clambered back into the Top 10 with his win in the Dubai Desert Classic Sunday ,rising six spots from No. 15.

Henrik Stenson, who finished second behind Garcia in Dubai, moved up to No. 3 in the world, edging past Dustin Johnson. After having as many as three of the top five players in the world hail from the US, now Americans hold down only one of the top six spots (Dustin Johnson, No.4).

Fourth-place Tyrrell Hatton jumped into the Top 20 at No. 19. Waste Management runner-up Webb Simpson jumped 33 spots to No. 56 from No. 89.

Tiger Woods, who had to pull out of the Dubai Desert Classic, fell eight spots to No. 674.

Jason Day spent his 50th week at No. 1, tying him for seventh all-time with Ian Woosnam for the seventh-most weeks in the top spot.  His 46 weeks in a row at the No. 1 spot is the 11th-longest streak at No. 1 since the beginning of the Official World Golf Rankings.
