Native son Brandon Stone carded his second straight 66 on Saturday to take a 3-stroke lead into the final day of the Alfred Dunhill Championships being played at Leopard Creek Country Club in Malelane, South Africa.

Stone is 17-under through 54 rounds, which gives him a 3-stroke lead over countryman Charl Schwartzel and Keith Horne, who are tied with the UK’s Chris Hanson for second place.

After scoring eagles on the back nine during his first two rounds, Stone delivered seven birdies against one bogey on Saturday.  One of those was on No. 6, which he has birdied all three days of the tournament.

The 33-year-old STtone, a native of Rustenberg, turned pro in 2013. His previous win came last year at the BMW SA Open when he fired a 14-under.

“I played some good golf the whole day. I holed some putts, hit some good shots, got a really, really lucky break on the last there but all of those missed putts for the last three days just cashed in there.” he said.

Schwartzel is the defending champion at the tournament.  He’s won it three times total, also taking the crown in 2012 and 2013.
