Herman Edges Stenson at SHO

Jim Herman’s birdie putt on No. 16 allowed him to take the win at the Shell Houston Open in Texas, the last event before The Masters kicks off on Thursday.

Herman edged Henrik Stenson by a single stroke. Henson has racked up five Top 10 finishes this year without a victory.

Herman was the picture of consistency, shooting between 67 and 69 throughout all four rounds to finish 15-under.

At 38, Herman qualifies for the Masters in his 104th start. He is a former employee of unlikely US Presidential candidate Donald Trump, having worked as pro on one of Trump’s courses.

As the story goes, Herman played a round with Trump, who asked the course pro why he wasn’t trying to make it on tour. Trump wound up staking Herman to return to qualifying school, and the rest is history.
