Calling a course soft isn’t always the nicest of things to say, but Roberto Castro had only glowing reviews for the conditions at the Country Club of Jackson.

“It’s just so soft out there,” Castro said of the home of the Sanderson Farms Championship. “It’s a great golf course, but when the conditions are soft, the scores are going to be low.”

None lower than Castro’s 10-under 62 which gave him a two-shot lead at the tournament being played opposite the massive WGC-HSBC Champions on the other side of the world in Shanghai, China.

Starting on the back nine, Castro rolled up four straight birdies between No. 13 and No. 15, and finished with five birdies on either side of the split, recording his lowest round as a professional.

His lead is two over Australia’s Aaron Baddeley, who fired off six birdies and an eagle 2 on No. 15, and Bryce Molder, who notched six of his eight birdies on the front nine.
