Three Tied for Shriners Lead
Canada’s David Hearn and Americans Michael Thompson and Mark Hubbard share the lead at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open which kicked off Thursday at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas.
Play was suspended late in the day, leaving about 10% of the field with a few holes not completed.
Hearn could have had the lead to himself, after racing to six birdies in a seven-hole stretch, but bogeyed No. 17.
Thompson had a wild round, 3-under through 10 before before double bogeying No. 11. He got both strokes back with birdies on 12 and 13, then sandwiched an eagle 3 on No. 16 with two more birdies.
The 17th hole also tripped up Hubbard, who otherwise racked up six birdies and an eagle on 16.
American Tyler Aldridge is also at 7-under, although his round was cut shot after the 16th.
A further 11 players are tied for second at 6-under. A full 97 of the 114 players are at least one stroke under par.
