Feverish Fahbring Fires 64
If being sick means being this good at golf, Sweden’s Jens Fahrbring will sleep with wet hair and the window open every night.
Fahrbring’s 8-under 64 saw him surge up the leaderboard at the Italian Open Friday, tying Norway’s Lucas Bjerregaard for first through 36 holes.
Fahbring fired nine birdies against just one bogey to fire the best round of the day and reach 13-under.
Bjerregard, ranked 416th in the world, had a bogey-free round, opening with ace on No. 1 to set the mood early.
The pair have a two-stroke lead over four more players, including Day One leader Nicolas Colsaerts, who fell off seven strokes from his opening-round 63 to a 70. After a bogey-free round on Thursday, Colsaerts had three of them on Friday to drain his five-birdie effort.
